Course Overview
This three day course encompasses the skills every analyst needs, from performing ad hoc analysis for data exploration to producing well-designed, interactive dashboards that present data accurately. Participants will learn how to share actionable data insights within their organization and provide business value that enables more informed decision-making. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental concepts of Tableau and how to navigate the Tableau Desktop environment.
- Learn to connect to various data sources and perform data extraction for efficient analysis.
- Master the creation of various chart types including scatter plots, pie charts, histograms, and more to visually represent data.
- Develop skills in data preparation techniques such as creating relationships, joins, unions, and blending data sources.
- Acquire the ability to perform complex calculations, including calculated fields, aggregate functions, and Level of Detail (LOD) expressions for in-depth data analysis.
- Gain proficiency in utilizing table calculations to uncover deeper insights from data.
- Create dynamic visualizations using filters, parameters, groups, hierarchies, and sets to facilitate interactive data exploration.
- Learn to build geospatial visualizations with maps and perform analytical techniques like adding reference lines, trend lines, and forecasting.
- Design, build, and refine interactive dashboards and stories that effectively communicate findings and insights.
- Format and publish dashboards, data sources, and manage Prep Flows and workbooks for distribution and collaboration within your organization.
